Marge signed an agreement in 1944 with Western Publishing Company for publishing and distributing a variety of books, comics, and other publications which featured Little Lulu and other characters assiciated with her in stories, pictures, or other printed form. This included coloring and other activity books, phonograph records, games, puzzles, and sewing cards. The agreement also included comic panel rights for newspaper publication. Annuals/Giants/Special Comics
In addition to the regularly scheduled comics, there were some special comics starting in 1953, when Dell published the first Little Lulu Tubby Annual. The following year, the second annual was published. Following that, there were 14 Dell Giant comics published from 1954 through 1961. Some of these contained reprints of previous stories, whereas others contained new stories. There was one other Dell special comic in 1962: Marge's Lulu and Tubby in Japan. Although not a Giant, it was not one in the regularly numbered comics.
There were also several Gold Key special comics. Marge's Little Lulu trick 'N' treat, December 1962, was not a Giant but was not one of the regularly numbered comics. There were two regularly numbered comics that were the size of a Giant comic: #165 Maarge's Little Lulu in Paris October 1962 (30001-210) and #166 Marge's Little Lulu Christmas Diary January 1963 (30001-301). Finally, there was a Gold Key Giant Comic #30001-708, undated but with copyright 1957 and 1958 (reprints) titled Marge's Little Lulu Summer Camp. This issue does not have the square binding of the other Giants.
