Directions: Take the Utica Exit from I-80 and go south on highway 178 for about 4 miles (past the junction with Rt. 71.) Follow the signs to the Dells Area, Matthiessen State Park, and turn right into the park. Go about 1 mile to the parking area. The trailhead is near the parking area, and includes 200 stairs down to the overlook at the top of the falls.
Notes: I visited Cascade Falls on April 11, 2002. Mattheissen State Park is close to Starved Rock State Park, in which I found other waterfalls. Mattheissen State Park has very good signs with lcoations of the falls and other sights.
It was hard to get a good view of Cascade Falls from the trail.
