Directions: Take Rt. 2 North from Libby for 10 miles to Kootenai Falls County Park on the right. The trail is about 1/4 mile to the falls. It includes a tower of 63 metal steps. The rest of the trail is easy.
Notes: I went to Kootenai Falls in Montana June 22, 2004.
I learned from someone in a restaurant in the area that the film "River Wild" with Merle Streep was filmed at Kootenai Falls. According to those in the restaurant, she almost drowned three times during the filming.
