Directions: As you enter Sparks on Rt. 12 east from Valentine, turn right (south) on the gravel road to Brewer's Bridge via County Road. At 4.8 miles you will pass Sparps Camp; continue to 5.4 miles and the falls can be seen off to the right across the river along the base of the hill.
Notes: I visited Little Cedar Falls on March 21, 2003. However, I'm not sure I actually found Little Cedar Falls. The directions I was using (from Waterfalls USA by Grass and Bowers) said at 7.6 miles there was a sandy road to the right; park and walk down the road a short distance to a grassy area with picnic tables. The falls could be seen across the river. However, I saw some frozen falls at 5.4 miles; I continued a short distance to a road into Sharp's Eastern Camp and took it back to the falls past some campsites with picnic tables. I could find nothing farther down the road at 7.6 miles, although I went in at Fritz's Island Campground/Stan's Landing and at another place just beyond. If anyone knows whether or not this is actually Little Cedar Road, please let me know.
The Waterfalls USA book recommended a 4WD vehicle for this road. I hit it at a good time, because I had no problems with my car on the road. However, later in the spring if it has been very wet, it might cause problems, so proceed with caution.
