Cougar Falls

Location: Lewis County, Washington

Water Source: Nickel Creek

Drop: ?? Feet

Flow: Year

Directions: Take Route 706 east from the west entrance of Mt. Ranier National Park to the turnout just before the Nickel Creek Bridge. The waterfall is below the bridge.

Notes: I went to Cougar Falls in Washington June 20, 2004. I don't know if this is the official name of these falls - I just came across them where Nickel Creek goes under the road, and it looks like there is a Cougar Falls there. I walked down the east side of the the creek to view the falls. There was a larger drop just below where I stopped walking, but I didn't want to walk back up any farther than I had already gone.

The first photo shows the falls above the highway; the second photo shows the falls below the highway. The last photo is of Mt. Adams from that spot.
