Morgan Falls

Water Source: Morgan Creek
Location: 2 1/2 miles southwest of Marquette
Size: Small falls and rapids
Directions: From Marquette where US-41/M-28 makes a 90 degree turn near Lake Superior, go about .5 miles south (to the right facing the lake) to a signal light at Genesee Street. Turn right (west) onto Genesee Street and go one block to Division street (which becomes Co. Rd. 553) and go almost 2 miles. Just before you get to the Marquette Mountain Ski resort (just before the "Pass with Care" sign) turn right onto a trail road and go 1.7 miles to an old bridge over Morgan Creek. Park just before the bridge. Morgan Falls goes under the bridge.
Other Information: I visited Morgan Falls 2 October 1991 and took the larger photo above. I revisited the falls 29 November 2006 and took the other photos. The first photo was taken from near the foot of the rapids; the second was taken from the bridge, shown in the third photo. While at Morgan falls, be sure to visit the Unnamed Falls on Morgan Creek.
