Sand River Falls, Sand River

The Sand River Falls are along the Sand River to the east of Highway 17 - there is a sign from the highway into a provincial park. You need to purchase a parking permit from a machine in the park. We had a one hour ticket, and that gave us time to see the falls below. The entire trail is 3k, but we went only about half way up. There were some rapids first, and then we came to the first falls in the first two photos below. The third photo is from the top of that falls looking downstream and out to Lake Superior, which can be seen above the top of the trees beyond the river.

Farther upstream was another falls, shown below from various angles.

The song "Waterfall Waltz" was composed and recorded by Will Bush ( vesperian@email.com ) for use on my waterfall pages. Thanks Will!
